The Red Eyes
Melbourne’s much loved act The Red Eyes have now released their long awaited second album RED ARMY. The album has already received critical acclaim, including ‘Album of the week’ on Radio Australia and 3PBS FM. Described as “A cracker of an album” by (The Age) and ‘full of character, tight, catchy and brimming with soul’ (Inpress); and with solid airplay from independant radio stations around the country and much media interest in streetpress, newspapers and pop culture magazines, RED ARMY is set to eclipse their past three releases, seeing them forge forward with their unique and alternative blend of Dub/Reggae grooves.
The band are touring the album nationally throughout May, June, July and August with plans to release in New Zealand and Japan later this year.
3 years in the making, RED ARMY captures the massive live sound that The Red Eyes have become known for through their energetic live shows around the country. RED ARMY delivers a layered, intricately produced album. If an energetic performance is something that audiences expect from The Red Eyes then this album will not fail to please. More extroverted than their last release, RED ARMY uses diverse production, from live studio takes to intricate programming, to blast their unique sound into an explosion of styles and see the group once more defying simple genre descriptions.
